Start with the reviewer’s decision
Ask what the reviewer needs to complete the existing process. A long summary may be less useful than a short list of proposed fields, missing items and contradictions. Keep the source document reachable and make the difference between the existing value and the proposed value visible.
The workflow also needs to establish which record the document belongs to. A well-read document attached to the wrong person or case is still a failed outcome. Record matching deserves its own checks rather than being treated as an incidental model judgement.
- Receive document
- Prepare proposed values
- Reviewer checks source
- Apply permitted update
Give uncertainty a useful vocabulary
| What the document shows | How the review should represent it |
|---|---|
| A clearly stated value | Show the candidate value with the relevant source reference. |
| A blank field | Mark it as missing; do not silently turn it into a negative answer. |
| Two conflicting values | Present the conflict and identify the sources for review. |
| Unreadable text | Leave the value unresolved and explain what needs checking. |
These are proposed workflow requirements, not a claim that every document format or review interface supports them automatically. Test the chosen reader, configuration and screen with your actual document types.
A worked example: an incomplete application
Illustrative scenario. A programme team receives an application with a missing date and two different telephone numbers. The agent prepares an assessment on the case: the missing date, both numbers and the pages where they appear. It proposes a follow-up question instead of selecting the more plausible number.
The reviewer can confirm a number, request clarification or leave the record unchanged. A separate, permitted action applies an approved update if that is part of the design. The example does not automate programme eligibility or infer consent from an uploaded form.
Choose the document capability deliberately
Salesforce offers document-related capabilities within the Health Cloud ecosystem, including Intelligent Document Automation. That is an alternative to evaluate against your requirements, not a feature to attribute to REDA AI. Existing entitlements, document formats and the surrounding review process influence the choice. [1]
REDA AI can be configured for document-assisted business workflows, but any extraction, mapping, custom tool or review-screen work needs an agreed scope. A prompt alone does not build the complete document pipeline.
Measure the work after extraction
Assess correct record association, field-level correctness, missing-information detection and total reviewer effort. Include difficult scans, unexpected layouts and conflicting information. Keep confidently wrong readings in the evaluation rather than averaging them away.
A useful pilot shows how a person reaches a dependable next step. Our intake and review guide explores that process in more detail.
